GIVE TO UNITED WAY

Your gift keeps Marylanders in homes, helps kids in school, and provides access to healthy food and jobs that pay the bills.

Since 1987, our Tocqueville Society members have been at the vanguard of improving the lives of countless individuals and families through extraordinary financial gifts, volunteerism, and advocacy.
For many, being a member is not so much about writing a check, rather it is an opportunity to have a more influential – even hands-on – role in solving the challenges facing Central Maryland to create a better future.

Our Tocqueville Society members join a national network of more than 25,000 philanthropic leaders in a movement that is committed to creating opportunities for everyone in our region. Locally, our 536 members made an average gift of $13,500.

Our Women United-Tocqueville Society is a powerful network of more than 210 women who are committed to addressing issues affecting women and children in our community.

Overall, United Way of Central Maryland’s Tocqueville Society has invested over $7.25 million in the past year to support self-sufficiency and equity in our community in the areas of education, housing, employment and health.

These gifts account for more than 40 percent of United Way’s annual private sector fundraising. Since its founding in 1987, our Tocqueville Society has raised almost $140 million to make Baltimore and its surrounding communities better—and stronger.

Nationally, the Tocqueville Society was established by United Way Worldwide in 1984 as a movement to celebrate and recognize individuals investing in their community with gifts of $10,000 and more.
